Today's Gift

Every day I feed a number of little critters out on my patio. I have had as many as six beautiful blue jays at once at the feeder. Other little birds, course I have no idea what they are, but they are cute.

My favorite is a little gray squirrel, she has been my dinner guests for a few years now.

This morning I went out to fill the feeder with seed, corn and peanuts. There I found a beautiful red squirrel. She was large with a big bushy tail. She filled her little cheeks with feed and walked off to the nearest tree. There she sat for the longest time, munching on feed.

Here's a few photos I was able to take.
Isn't she cute? She was my "gift" today.

Do you get any magical gifts today?

  1. Seems well fed and not too agraid. My magical gift today was to walk around the farm. Found some interesting trails for riding. I have posted a few pictures myself. Check them out. A couple of post back, I told the horse saga. Hope you enjoy them.

  2. Gail...that squirrel seemed really used to humans. Which is odd, cuz I'm out in the country.

  3. I just found you because you commented on my blog!
And that is my "gift" today. I LOVE horses, though don't own one. We LOVE dogs at our house and now you've met Huck, our 14-year-old beagle!
I will be back to enjoy your posts and pictures.
    This is WONDERFUL!
Happy Holidays to you and yours. (and yes, Huck will get his pat and belly rub that you so kindly sent via your comment!)

  4. Like Ms. Westcoastbich I found you because you found me and left a comment. That is not a normal squirrel if you ask me. That is the offspring of a squirrel that mated with a fox. That is one crazy tail. My gift today was to sing in at a jazz brunch with a friend of mine. My first major performance in about 12432 years.
